Zhang Huan exhibition at Fort Belvedere Florence
Zhang Huan exhibition at Fort Belvedere Florence. Zhang Huan, one of the most interesting artists of the contemporary international scene, presents in Florence his largest exhibition in Italy.
The exhibition is the encounter between two great cultural capitals: Florence, main location for the the Renaissance and cultural birthplace of the great masters of our past such as Donatello, Michelangelo, Vasari and Shanghai, creative capital of the XXI Century. Zhang Huan è rimasto affascinato dall’arte dei grandi maestri del nostro passato come Donatello, Michelangelo, Vasari che a suo tempo celebrarono le vicende politiche e il mecenatismo della Repubblica Fiorentina e dei Medici.
Built following a design by Bernardo Buontalenti and Don Giovanni de ‘Medici in 1590 during the Grand Duchy of Ferdinand, The the Forte Belvedere or San Giorgio overlooked over the city of Florence and being adjacent to the city walls had the function of protecting against external attacks and as a stronghold in the event of internal disturbances or riots, today it is an important exhibition center.
