Sforzesca summer – summer events in Milan
Summer in the city in Milan in 2013 will be marked by events of “Sforzesca summer”. With 60 days of programming with 27 music and theater performances , 35 films and 198 guided tours, the city of Milan offers an organized schedule full of events to all the citizens who remain in the city and for visitors who will choose Milan this summer.
In the Rocchetta Courtyard 21 musical events from jazz, classical, pop singer-songwriters. Jazz is the protagonist of the third music festival: “The Rhythm of the City”, whose concerts have the specific intent to place the music in the urban context to encourage the rediscovery of places that are not central, known or customary and support the projects of young musicians. “The Rhythm of City” opens Monday, July 15, at 9:30 pm, with the Steve Swallow Quintet accompanied by Carla Bley.
On July 22, Edison will provide the city a special event with free entry to the Alessandro Mannarino concert, urban singer-songwriter with a passion for fringe music, eclectic and contaminating.
Then on July 23 and 24,the Courtyard Rocchetta hosts “Mistero Buffo and other stories” by Dario Fo and Franca Rame, with the actors of thel “Paolo Grassi” School in Milan and the “Nico Pepe” Academy in Udine, direct by Massimo Navone, directed by Michele Bottini and Claudio De Maglio, in collaboration with Dario Fo.
On July 26, however, some of the bands that in recent years have won the Edison contest will be on stage – Change the Music, the first Italian project for the sustainable music. The Portico dell’Elefante and the Sala Visconti instead welcome the third edition of Video Sound Art, a multimedia Festival of technological innovation in the arts. The works of great names of the international motion graphics, sound design and video mapping will be on display at the Castle alongside those of emerging artists. From Moma Aaron Koblin, designers at the head of the Data Arts Team in Google’s Creative Lab, the Japan Media Art Festival, Daito Manabe. Among the Italian artists both of birth or acquisition, we will meet on screens, projections and sound boxes the works of the triad of creatives MTV: Ced Pakusevskij, Daniel Carmosino, and Cristian Acquaro.
For the children, the actress Carla Chiarelli presents the famous Marcovaldo by Italo Calvino, while, from Sunday, July 7 to Tuesday August 27, are scheduled 198 “guided tours” to the battlements, the road deck and the open spaces of the Castle, organized by “Ad Artem” and “Artwork”. August will be the month dedicated to cinema and theater. The summer arena of the AriAnteo will be open in the Cortile della Rocchetta from August 1 to September 4 with a schedule of 35 national and international projections, ranging from art films to the most popular films, with a special focus on families.
