Lights of the 900 in the Pitti Palace
Lights of the 900 is an exhibition that will take place at the Pitti Palace Modern Art Gallery from October 28, 2014 to March 8, 2015. To celebrate the centenary of the founding of the Modern Art Gallery, it has been decided to devote one Exhibition to the collections of the 900 existing in this museum of Florence.
Lights of the 900 is much more than an exhibition, this is the proof for a new museum of unpublished masterpieces of the last century, to which the gallery of modern art of Palazzo Pitti hopes to find a stable place in one of the last rooms. As happened to the collections of the XX century of the city of Florence that have found their place and exhibition space in the new Museum of the Novecento in the complex Leopoldina.
A century after the Convention between the State and the City (June 1914), finally was identified the exhibition space that will be assigned to the eight-twentieth-century works of art, we can finally admire a wide selection of works mostly unknown pertaining to the last century and that until the present moment have been in storage.
The exhibition will feature masterpieces by great artists such as: Carena, Casorati, De Chirico, De Pisis, Peyron, Rosai, Severini, Baccio Maria Bacci, Giovanni Colacicchi Carlo Carrà, Alberto Savinio, Marino Marini, Libero Andreotti, Antonio Maraini.
With Florence Museum you will discover the fantastic artistic and cultural heritage of Florence.
