A Night at the Museum in Florence. Even the Polo Museale Fiorentino joined the Mibac “A Night at the Museum” in Florence is an initiative of the Ministry of Culture, which foresees the evening opening of some sites of cultural excellence and archaeological sites of the state. The initiative will take place every last Saturday of the month until December 2013.
From 07:00 pm to 11:00 pm (last admission at 10:30 pm) the opening hours of the Accademia Gallery will be extended, where the “From Lily to David. Civil Arts in Florence between the Middle Ages and Renaissance” exhibition will be held. Also, to the 21 visitors will be offered a concert, organized by the A.Gi.Mus., which will be devoted to violinist Kanako Okubo who will perform, among others, works by Schubert, Bach, Paganini and Ysaye.
Also the Medici Chapels Museum, where the “In the splendor of the Medici. Pope Leo X and Florence ” exhibition is being held, after the usual opening hours (at 08:15 am to 04:50 pm) will open again at 07:00 pm and will continue until 11:00 pm (last admission 10:30 pm).
In the second edition of “Night at the Museum” – Saturday, August 31 – the Uffizi Gallery will join these two museums – which will extend the opening hours from 07:00 pm to 11:00 pm – in whose rooms on the main floor “The Grand Prince Ferdinando de ‘Medici (1663 – 1713) Collector and Patron ” exhibition will be held.
